Things to Ponder

                      Things to Ponder

  Is Heaven and Hell real?
  Is there life after death?
What does it take to be a Christian?
Do you know how to know that you are going to heaven?
  Does Jesus love us unconditionally?
Where do you want to spend eternity?
If you have answered any of these questions with
uncertainty orif you cannot answer them, we encourage you
to visit Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church and listen
to the Word of God as delivered by Pastor Flowers.

WE GREET YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS

WELCOME!
It is our prayer that we can say something that
willi  nspire you to seek the kingdom of God. We
are living in a time where many are seeking but
do not know what they are seeking. Many have
fallen away from their childhood teachings of the
Word of God. Many  are feeling hopeless,
cornered and enslaved. Let us tell you about a
man named Jesus. His Father loved us so much
that He sent him as a living sacrifice for all of us.
No, we cannot tell it all here but that is why we
encourage you to join the Rev. Romey Flowers Jr.,
First Lady Sis. Judy Flowers and members of the
Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in fellowship,
praise and worship this Sunday. God has given us
the greatest gift of all but we have to accept it.
We look forward to your presence this Sunday. If
not with us, please find a church that teaches
and believes the Holy Bible.
God's grace, mercy and peace unto you.!

From the Pastor's Wife

      FROM THE PASTOR'S WIFE

I share the sentiment's of my husband concerning Christ's Church.  Having been called by God and when becoming a Child of God, there were things I had to learn.  I had to learn that letting go of what we cherish is one of the toughest things we ever have to do and that includes letting go of jobs, homes, relationships, good health, illusions, self-importance and sometimes even loved ones. We are crippled by sufferieng, unless we learn to say goodbye as well as hello. I had to learn that God MUST be first!  That applies to me and anyone who has decided to make God their choice. We must say " Farewell to the Broad-way of living  and  Hello to walking on Straight Street."

Church History

On June 1, 1965, Rev. Smith, being a humble servant of God obeyed His will by calling together a community meeting in his home located at 419 Muegge Street, San Antonio, Texas. Those present were Bro. Clinton James Todd Sr., Sis Virgie Lee Todd, Bro Central Todd Jr., Bro Charles B. Barksdale Sr., Sis. Isabel News, Sis. Lilly Mae Sneed, Rev. Emmet W. Smith, Sis. Katherine Smith and Sis. Joyce M. White.

The Purpose of the Church

The purpose of the church is to teach biblical doctrine, provide a place of fellowship for believers, provide a place for praise, worship and acknowledgment of the Lord, provide a place of united prayer and for observance of the Lord’s Supper. (Read Acts 2:42)

The purpose of teaching biblical doctrine is to promote the birth and growth of our faith. (Read Ephesians 4:14)

Words of Encouragement

If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me

The Fruits of Worry

Worry causes additional stress and can be fatal. It is and always will be a fatal disease of the heart. When we worry that is a sign that faith in waning and possibly could soon be gone.

Worry intrudes on God’s compassionate ability to provide for us.

Knowing God - Life's Major Pursuit

Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength
Or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this;
That he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice
And righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, “declares the Lord.”
