From the Pastor's Wife
I share the sentiment's of my husband concerning Christ's Church. Having been called by God and when becoming a Child of God, there were things I had to learn. I had to learn that letting go of what we cherish is one of the toughest things we ever have to do and that includes letting go of jobs, homes, relationships, good health, illusions, self-importance and sometimes even loved ones. We are crippled by suffering, unless we learn to say goodbye as well as hello. I had to learn that God MUST be first! That applies to me and anyone who has decided to make God their choice. We must say " Farewell to the Broad-way of living and Hello to walking the Straight Street."
I believe I know exactly what Robert Frost meant when he penned:The rain to the wind said"You push and I'll pelt"They so smote the garden bedThat the flowers actually knelt,And lay lodge--though not deadI know how the flowers felt. Every good bye has some suffering in it and the greater the parting, the deeper the pain; the greater the loss, the more severe is the empty place that accompanies it. No matter how we try to hide or avoid it, the pain of goodbyes will show itself in our lives eventually.But time and the strength of God's presence is able to lessen the pain. As my husband said, our task is to help those without and within. Therefore, if you are without, say goodbye world and hello Jesus. If you have faith, God has the power! Sister Judy A. FlowersThe Fruits of Worry
Worry causes additional stress and can be fatal. It is and always will be a fatal disease of the heart. When we worry that is a sign that faith in waning and possibly could soon be gone.
Worry intrudes on God’s compassionate ability to provide for us.
Knowing God - Life's Major Pursuit
Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength
Or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this;
That he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice
And righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, “declares the Lord.”
